Reverend Barry & The Funktastic Soul
In a very short time, Reverend Barry and Funktastic Soul featuring the Hellacious Horns have enjoyed a rocket-ride of success. This super-tight 8-piece funk band has been packing dance floors since their very first gig on Halloween of 2013. This high-energy dance band plays the most popular dance hits by well-loved artists like Earth Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Kool & the Gang, James Brown and more.
Reverend Barry belts out Stevie Wonder, James Brown and more on vocals while holding down the groove on the bass. Yaya Diamond’s award-winning vocals and magnetic stage presence keep the audience spellbound. Young virtuoso Chet Gass not only plays lead guitar, keyboards and talk box…but also sings lead, backing vocals and raps. Keyboardist & vocalist Jayar Mack’s soaring lead and backup vocals bring a level of vocal excellence to this band that is rarely seen in a single act. “The Hellacious Horns”, a super-tight 3-piece horn section brings these great songs to life in the way they were meant to be heard. 90-120 high-energy sets, filled with back-to- back medleys of the most popular dance songs has local audiences and area nightclub owners begging for more. Funktastic Soul has garnished a large, rabid fan base who religiously pack every show at top nightclubs in Southwest Florida. The band has quickly become a popular choice for private parties & corporate events. Plus, their funky hook-laden originals are catching on with audiences all over the Suncoast, making them a “must-have” act for music festivals, and opening slots for national acts.
